Coin de la petite enfance (Kiddy Corner) and Parents-bambins (Parents-Toddlers)
There are lots of areas in the early childhood education centre Coin de la petite enfance where infants and children (0 to 6 years) can play and have fun. Your children will love the different craft, reading, building, and dress-up play stations! Coin de la petite enfance provides a gathering place for parents and children, and offers a range of programs for the enjoyment of all ages.
Parents-bambins is designed to promote the social and psycho-motor development of the child through various activities. This program is offered in French at a number of locations in the GTA.

Child Development (0 to 5 years)
Every child is unique and has the right to an environment that promotes his or her development.
If you have any concern about your child (0-5 years) or if you suspect a developmental delay with respect to your child's:
- motor skills
- socialization
- autonomy
- understanding
- communication and language
- sensory perception
The Centre francophone can help you by offering the following services:
- Comprehensive assessment of your child's development, with screening
- Coordination of required services and development of an intervention plan
- Family counselling and support
- Home visits
- Daycare visits

Every child belongs (0 to 12 years)
Every licensed child care in the city of Toronto has an assigned Special Needs Resource person.
These specialized professionals provide the consistent support needed so that every child can take part in the child care program of his or her family’s choice.
Support services include:
- regular visits to programs
- Early identification and intervention
- Individual consultation
- Program consultation
- Staff and provider training
- Programs adaptations and environmental assessments
- Service coordination and referral
- Enhanced staffing/intensive resource support, when needed.

Infant Mental Health
Nightmares, profound sadness, lack of self-confidence, tantrums and anger … does your child give you concern with any of these behaviours? Your child may need help.
The Centre francophone's Mental Health Service for children from 0 to 5 years of age can help you by offering:
- Therapy services for children
- Individual or family counselling
- Group meetings
- Coordination of services among the various support agencies
- Support at daycare as well as in the home

Health Check-up and Vaccination
Is your child between the ages of 2 and 6? The Centre francophone is offering a general health check-up for children covering their physical, social, behavioural, and feeding/nutritional well-being.
A one-on-one meeting of parent and child with a nurse will enable you to find out about your child's general state of health. Where necessary, a follow-up appointment will be arranged with the appropriate professional(s).
Our clinical services can also give your child the necessary vaccinations.

Feeding and Nutrition for Infants and Young Children
How should a typical plate of food for a child of 2 to 5 years of age look? How do you choose the best snack when there is so much to choose from on the shelves of the grocery stores?
At the Centre francophone, dieticians will offer individual counselling on:
- Healthy eating
- Home-preparation of baby foods
- Introduction of solid foods
- Healthy snacks and meals
Workshops for parents, guardians and teachers are also available on request.

Ici pour aider (Here to Help) – For children who witness spousal violence
This program is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 16 who have witnessed violence in the home.
Twelve one-on-one meetings give the child an opportunity to verbalize his or her experience and to discuss it in an effort to break the cycle of violence.
Support meetings for mothers are also organized at the same time to help them help their child deal successfully with this difficult situation.
Meetings for this program can be held either in the home or at our offices at 22 College St. and at Fairview Mall. No charge.

Espace personnel (Personal Space) – an in-the-schools program
This is a prevention program offered in the schools for children from Grades 3 to 6.
Our goal is to help children:
- Recognize abusive situations
- Develop techniques to control their emotions
- Develop positive strategies for managing difficult situations
- Develop the necessary knowledge and skills to seek help
- Enlarge their support network
The program includes a workshop for school staff, followed (the same week) by workshops for children conducted by two workshop leaders.

Children's Drop-in Centre
Do you have an appointment at the Centre francophone and a child between the ages 3 and 6? A drop-in centre is available for your children at the Centre francophone every Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Your child can enjoy the stimulation of the early childhood centre Coin de la petite enfance while you are at the Centre francophone on business.
This service is offered free of charge to people who have an appointment at the Centre. Please note that users of this service may not leave the building.
